For MAN Lion's City 12C & 18C Attica Transport Consortium - OASA 1.0.0

A realistic repaint on the newly added buses to Athens suburban lines fleet to replace older vehicles.

After a long hiatus on making repaints, I am back with the New Lion's City. This time I present to you the repaints from the joint venture of transportation of Attica (Κοινοπραξία Συγκοινωνιών Αττικής) operated by OASA to replace older buses that were bought used from Germany, Netherlands, Hungary, France etc. According to reliable information, all the new buses, in total 211 were starting to operate since August 26, 2024. They are brought by the consortium of two tourist offices (Maroulis and Panolympia) with six KTEL companies (Corinth, Argos, Thebes, Chania, Salamis and Magnesia) and will cover the routes of OASA in Eastern and Western Attica for the next eight years.

After the privatization and restructuring of KTEL Attikis, significant changes occurred in the suburban city lines that serve the Athens metropolitan area. KTEL Attikis, which previously managed intercity and suburban routes, transitioned its operations to meet modern demands, improve efficiency, and integrate with the larger public transport network in the region.

With this shift, the suburban city lines were reorganized to improve connectivity between Athens and surrounding suburban areas. This change involved both the upgrading of infrastructure and the introduction of newer, more environmentally friendly buses. These buses, often based on models like the MAN Lion's City, were designed to be more fuel-efficient, provide greater comfort, and reduce emissions, thus addressing the environmental and urban mobility challenges in the area.

Ultimately, after the changes following the transition from KTEL Attikis, the suburban city lines saw improved efficiency, better service quality, and a more sustainable approach to public transport in the greater Athens area. The move also paved the way for further modernization and integration with the broader public transport network, ensuring that the system could meet the needs of a growing urban population while reducing its environmental footprint.
