Python Program zur Verbesserung des Lenkverhaltens mit Controller

Hallo! Die Default Lenkung mit Controller im Omsi ist leider regelrecht unspielbar. Ich habe mich an ein kleines Plugin gesetzt, dass das Lenkverhalten verbessert und somit das gesamte Spielerlebnis erheblich aufwertet.

Leider funktioniert das nicht von Haus aus im Omsi. Es werden zusätzliche Programme benötigt.

Folgende Programme (nicht im Download enthalten) sind vorausgesetzt:

Sind jene Programme installiert, kann es mit dem weiteren Setup losgehen:

1. vJoyConf starten. Im Konfigurationsmenü die Einstellungen übernehmen (siehe grafik.png). Ggf. den PC neu starten, um die Änderungen zu aktivieren.

2. Joystick Gremlin starten. Im Tab "Plugins" kann nun mithilfe der unteren Schaltfläche "Add Plugin" mein Plugin "GamePad4Omsi.py" hinzugefügt werden. Die weiteren Einstellungen und Parameter können nach belieben eingestellt werden. Meine empfohlenen werte können grafik(1).png entnommen werden und bieten mit einem Dualshock4 Controller ein angenehmes Lenkverhalten. Als "Steering Input" muss die gewünschte Eingabeachse durch bewegen jener ausgewählt werden. Durch Linksclick auf das Gamepad Icon oben rechts kann das Plugin aktiviert werden. In der Ecke rechts unten steht nun: "Status: Running and Active".

Nun zu den Einstellungen in Omsi selbst. Zum besseren Verständnis: Mithilfe von vJoy haben wir ein zusätzliches virtuelles Gerät erstellt, das nun mit den bearbeiteten Inputs unseres ursprünglichen Controllers arbeitet.

Wir nutzen nun also das "vJoy Device" nur für die Lenkachse (hier: Achse X). Alle anderen Befehle/Achsen (Bremse, Gas, etc.) laufen wie gewohnt über den "Wireless Controller", unseren ursprünglichen Controller. Mein Setup habe ich ebenfalls hochgeladen.

Im Omsi muss nun lediglich das Lenkrad aktiviert werden (Taste K). Sollte sich das Lenkrad im Simulator nicht bewegen, ist es ratsam, im Joystick Gremlin das Gamepad Icon zu cyclen.

Es klingt nach mehr, als es letztenendes ist, und das Spielerlebnis ist meines Erachtens nach wesentlich besser!

I have created a small plug-in that improves steering behaviour and thus significantly enhances the overall gaming experience.

Unfortunately, this does not work natively in Omsi. Additional programmes are required.

The following programmes (not included in the download) are required:

Once these programmes are installed, you can proceed with the rest of the setup:

1. Start vJoyConf. Apply the settings in the configuration menu (see grafik.png). If necessary, restart your PC to activate the changes.

2. Start Joystick Gremlin. In the ‘Plugins’ tab, you can now add my plugin ‘GamePad4Omsi.py’ using the ‘Add Plugin’ button at the bottom. The other settings and parameters can be adjusted as desired. My recommended values can be found in grafik(1).png and provide comfortable steering behaviour with a Dualshock4 controller. The desired input axis must be selected as ‘Steering Input’ by moving it. The plugin can be activated by left-clicking on the gamepad icon in the top right corner. The bottom right corner now displays: ‘Status: Running and Active’.

Now let's move on to the settings in Omsi itself. For a better understanding: With the help of vJoy, we have created an additional virtual device that now works with the edited inputs of our original controller.

So now we only use the ‘vJoy Device’ for the steering axis (here: axis X). All other commands/axes (brake, accelerator, etc.) run as usual via the ‘Wireless Controller’, our original controller. I have also uploaded my setup.

All you need to do now is activate the steering wheel in Omsi (key K). If the steering wheel does not move in the simulator, it is advisable to cycle the gamepad icon in Joystick Gremlin.

It sounds like more than it actually is, and in my opinion, the gaming experience is much better!
