A simple program that will allow you to quickly modify rowdy factor values of all cars in the AI list of selected map.

This simple program allows you to quickly modify rowdy factor values of all cars in the AI list of selected map.


You could actually load AI list file from any folder, as long as it's in OMSI 2 format and vehicles ARE available in the selected OMSI 2 folder.


What is purpose of this? If you, like me, like to play with collisions you probably noticed that sometimes an AI vehicle will crash into the trailer of your bus. There is a lot of "theory" why this happens but the solution is to lower rowdy factor values of a vehicle (car). One issue that I noticed, and that's why I created this program, is that if you lower the values and then drive a solo bus - AI cars will stay too far behind your bus (which is unrealistic). That's why I created this program, to be able to modify the values quickly (but usually I'm too lazy so I just leave it with values for articulated buses :D).


I tested the program and used it many times so it works, but some bugs could happen.


As always - please make backup of cars that you plan to modify!

How to use?

To run this program you need .NET 6 runtime.

  1. Select your OMSI 2 folder
  2. Select an "ailists.cfg" file. The program will load all vehicles that have [rowdy_factor] attribute.
  3. Click on each car and change values. The values that prevent crashing to an articulated bus trailer are: "from": -1, "to": 0. But you can play with it.
  4. Click on "Save" button after you modify values so the changes are added to "buffer".
  5. Once you modified values for all cars that you wanted to modify, click on "Write All Changes" button. This will actually write new values to the files.

    Update!

    -Vehicles from all AI groups are loaded now IF they have [rowdy_factor] attribute. This program isn't an AI list manager so don't use it to check what's in the AI list.

    -The message about rowdy factor won't appear anymore (because of the above change).

    -If a vehicle file (.bus,.ovh) doesn't exist, couldn't be found or whatever other reason it simply won't be added to the list.

    -You are now able to select the main Omsi folder even if you click on "Cancel" on the initial "Select Main folder" dialog. There is a button that allows you to open that dialog again.

    • @Textman Wie hast du das Problem gelöst? In meiner Rezension sieht man, dass es bei mir nicht funktioniert, weil ich den Fehler bekomme, der auf dem Bild zu sehen ist.

      Und ich hatte es mit der Standard Ailist von Grundorf getestet.

      Ich sehe gerade, dass die noch nicht freigeschaltet wurde. Ich bekomme die Fehlermerldung: "This vehicle is invalid or dosn´t have a rowdy factor entry."

      Hattest du dieses Problem auch?

      Getestet wurde es mit Grundorf und den Standartfahrzeugen.

  • Unusable!

    Hello! For me this little tool is useless. Not even the standard supplied vehicles of Omsi 2 are recognized.


    In the attached picture you can always see the following error.


    I have proceeded as follows:

    1.) I unpacked the files into the Omsi 2 main directory.

    2.) I started the .exe, selected Omsi 2 main directory

    3) Now I have loaded (for test) the Grundorf ailist


    After that I get this error. (to see on the picture)


    I am happy to update my rating if the error is on my end.

    I'm sorry for this and aware of the problem.


    Reason is that some AI vehicles don't have that [rowdy_factor] and then this message appears. After that the message is repeated even if the vehicle have attribute.


    I will publish an update very soon and that message will be gone because vehicles without rowdy factor attribute won't be added to the list. Also, "valid" vehicles from all AI groups will be available.


    There will be some usability fixes as well.
