11 units were manufactured in 1987 at the CMTC factory under the order of former mayor Jânio Quadros.
It had its design based on the London buses, and even used the red painting, common on CMTC buses of the late 80's.
After the first batch, the project was assigned to Thamco, a São Paulo based bodybuilder that continues the project by delivering
more 26 units ordered on late 1987.
It is here that Jânio Quadros was enchanted by the London buses on one of his trips and decided to bring them to Sao Paulo.
Its chassis was the Scania K112 with manual transmission, which CMTC already used on other buses of its fleet.
It became a tourist attraction, the upper floor was disputed by passengers looking for the best city view, but standing on the upper floor was prohibited.
Just like the other buses of the time, the boarding was in its rear door, something that is unusual today.
They operated until 1993, when they were deactivated by the former mayor Erundina.
This version has the rear door boarding.

Would it be possible to also create a version with normal boarding and one man operation (Ticket sales at the driver)

thank you, at the moment i don't have plans for more bi-articulated, but more classic busses are being made.

Is there any way of adapting this to an automatic transmission? It's a great bus, but I'm limited to the use of only one hand, so clutch and gears are impossible for me. Even if swapping scripts was possible?
RedJoker Software Autor
yes, it is possible, i will update this bus with automatic transmission.
When this bus in real life was produced the automatic gearboxes were very rare on Brazil, and these units never used them.

Excellent, that's great to hear. I know it spoils authenticity, but it shouldn't detract from a great addition to OMSI. We were long overdue another double decker and you've given us a fantastic one, a true piece of history.

Sie könnten zwei Versionen lassen, eine automatische und die andere manuelle, weil ich Getriebe habe und es nichts damit zu tun hat und ich etwas zu spielen habe, werde ich nicht aktualisieren, ich möchte den Spaß nicht verderben

Great work on the update, really is a welcome addition to the sim, we need more double-deckers. I do have a couple of very small bugs I'd like to point out:
The rear door makes no sound when closing. It may make a sound if other doors have been used, but on it's own it is silent.
The brakes are very weak, this bus just doesn't want to stop.
Aside from that, it's great. A very good job very well done.

Karo1228: I know the bus is manual by default, but my polite request for an automatic gearbox was kindly acknowledged and I'm extremely grateful. Even more so since I have lost the use of my left hand, meaning I can only really get use from automatics.
