Are you tired of seeing parked cars with straight wheels and no license plates? This small but nifty addon is just for you!

This little mod adds a randomizer for the front wheel steer angles and license plate combinations of the vanilla AI cars.

Please read the READ_ME file before installing this mod!

    Bugfix: the cars' shadows no longer clip through the road.

    V1.0.2 can be installed as a standalone version (if you haven't installed the previous version) or as a "hotfix". If you already have the old version, simply overwrite the new one over it when prompted to do so.

  • I don't really care about the license plates but the random steering seems nice. Is there an easy way to implement only that into third party AI cars? Like, copy and paste that part of the script into every individual AI car script?

    I have no idea how scripting in omsi works, therefore I'm very much lost here. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Funktioniert der Mod bei euch auf den Nachbarkacheln? Bei mir klappt alles prima, aber immer nur auf der Startkachel. Die geparkten Autos auf den Nachbarkacheln bekommen keine Kennzeichen.

    • You are right. Upon further inspection, cars seem to not get license plates on other tiles than the one you spawned at. I will see if there's anything to be done.

  • Very good mod! I will try to also mod other cars that way, but first I will see if this has any impact on the performance. In order not to have plates from Berlin on every map, maybe I would include a map detection in the script and have different plates for other cities. But I'm a little concerned that such detections hits the performance when done on every loaded parked car.

    • I am not quite able to provide accurate information regarding the impact on performance since the laptop I carry my work on is essentially a potato. Still, to me it didn't seem to behave worse than usual.

    • Bei mir klappt das leider nicht bei anderen Autos. Ich habe das analog zu den hier gemoddeten Modellen gemacht: Scriptaufruf eingefügt, mit neuer Modelddatei verlinkt die Anganfs das random_number enthält, aber bei denen bleibt das Kennzeichen weiss.

    • Funktioniert in der Regel nicht, wenn die "model_parked.cfg" auf eine "..._parked.o3d" verweist. In deiner model_parked.cfg muss außerdem der komplette Absatz "[matl] Kennz.bmp" aus der regulären "model.cfg" drin sein. Dann klappts.

    • Thanks for reporting!

      I think this is due to the set height of the parking "spot". Raising it a couple centimeters (or even milimeters) in Editor should solve the issue.
