We make the filebase tidy

Dear users,

the introductory text already says it: Our Filebase inspectors have a lot to do. Every day they unlock files and point out errors in files to users (see rulebook). Meanwhile there are a lot of entries where for example a description or pictures are missing. In such cases it is the standard procedure of the filebase review to send a PN to the author and ask for correction. There have been a lot of entries where the author does not get back to us or does not correct the entry. For us this is a pity, because e.g. (valuable and costly) storage space is occupied by these orphaned files. We have therefore decided to introduce a new rule:

Entries that have been objected to and not unlocked will be deleted after one month if they are not corrected within that time.

The following procedure will be used in the future:

  • In the PN to the corresponding entry, you will be given a deadline by which you must have corrected the post (one month).
  • After this time the entry will be moved to the trash. After that the entry can be restored by informing the editing Filebase inspector that you will correct the entry.
  • After another month the file will be automatically removed irrevocably. So you have had a total of two months.
  • When this article is published, the files from 2022 (and earlier) will also be deleted one by one.

We feel that two months is enough time to correct entries - especially since the rules are clear from the start.
