A new chapter in linking the OMSI community on WebDisk will begin with this article:
The control center
We want to introduce a new user group within the WebDisk: The control center
With the control center, we want to dive into the large community-interactive topic of service trips. This takes over the organization and acts as a control center during the execution of these trips. Of course, the player should express wishes beforehand, which will be taken into account during the organization. The control center specifies the map in advance and assigns the line including the vehicle number to the participants on the day of the trip, about which the players are addressed via radio (e.g. via Zello). The player is free to choose his vehicle (including repaint) as long as the bus type fits the line (an articulated bus is usually unsuitable on an intercity line, but the final decision is at the discretion of the control center).
Do you want to become a part of the control center? You would like to actively accompany service trips? You want to give something back to the community?
Then this is the right place for you!
What we expect from you:
- General knowledge of OMSI (various maps and buses),
- the willingness to learn about unknown maps/buses/etc.
- organizational talent,
- good interaction with the community,
- the desire to role-play (as the execution has a minor role-playing character),
- the technical equipment (like a microphone)
- and last but not least the most important: Sufficient time!
It can be time-consuming: Planning beforehand, reviewing participant applications, organizing everything and finally running the event. Therefore, this team should be of a certain size. This way, it can be coordinated internally who will carry out the organizational matters required in advance and who will represent the control center at the end; i.e. acting as 2- to 3-man groups in weekly rotation.
Application
Do you have more experience with OMSI, especially a greater knowledge of maps and buses? Or do you work in reality as a bus driver or even in a control center in order to enrich our way of doing things (especially radio calls) with abbreviations (radio codes) and radio behavior that conforms to reality, which would also make you suitable as a "passive team member"? Do you have any other skills and/or knowledge that would enrich our organization and implementation?
Have we aroused your interest and would you like to join us?
PS:
It should be clear that we reject applications with content like "I want to join the team because I know OMSI well and play it frequently"! It would help if you told us more about yourself, especially your age, skills, and qualifications for team membership so that we can consider your application.
Existing team members from other areas are welcome to apply for this team as well; a list of skills is sufficient here.
