News of December

"Haha" reaction removed

Due to similar reasons to the decision of 2021 to deactivate the negative reactions, we have removed the ":D Haha" reaction. Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that this reaction is used as a replacement for the negative reactions used before. Moreover, the problems at that time (e.g. dealing with private conflicts through reactions) remained.

As of recently, this reaction was massively used in individual posts in the OMSI screenshot thread, which led to some users misinterpreting it negatively and causing heated discussions on various platforms.

To prevent such incidents, the "Haha" reaction has been removed. If you dislike something, you can always express yourself in the comments or posts and, if needed, substantiate these with suggestions for improvement or solution. This way, not only misinterpretations are prevented, it also helps other users to improve their content.

Changes in the team

Our former OMSI expert Hamburg has left the team at his own request.

The whole team would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being an expert in the last 2.5 years and providing the users with high quality support.

Control centre events

Our control centre team has successfully conducted several control centre events with members of the community. If you would like to take part as a driver in the next event, please register yourself here.

Advent calendar and giveaways during the Christmas season

It is that time again: Like the previous years, the advent calendar starts again on the 1st of December, in which you can get a surprise everyday from the community. You must be quick though: Missed doors can not be opened the next day!

There are also giveaways with the chance to win DLC keys waiting for you. These are sponsored by the publishers HALYCON and AEROSOFT - thank you for, once again, supporting our community and OMSI this year!

Other changes

  • Snowflakes: Like last December, the WebDisk is snowing again this year! If it does bother you, you can deactivate it in the settings (under "Display").
  • Filebase categories: Categories has been added for newly released DLCs and modifications respectively. Some categories are also currently being expanded, e.g. "Mods for vehicles" in subcategories for popular vehicles from the respective manufacturers.

Yours truly,

James

and the entire WebDisk team.
