  • The addon city bus o305

The AddOn was developed by Rolf Westphalen in close cooperation with MR-Software GbR (Marcel Kuhnt, Rüdiger Hülsmann), the creators of OMSI, and Roland Steltenpohl (Map "Neuendorf").[1]

    1. Scope of delivery

The AddOn delivers the Mercedes-Benz O 305 as a solo bus[2]. On the one hand it is the Berlin models E2H84 and E2H85, where the last two digits show the year of manufacture (1984 and 1985 respectively), on the other hand the "standard bus 1977" is included as a neutral model. All models are designed for rolling conveyors, where only the digits 0-9 and the letter E together with a space are possible. For licensing reasons, no Mercedes stars are present, but can be added via MOD[3].

One addition is the fictitious map "Neuendorf", which is located in the beginning of the 80s. Further information can be found in the product information published by Aerosoft:

    1.1. O305-E2H84 (Berlin Edition)

This Berlin model is delivered exclusively with the front design of a standard intercity bus (StÜLB) and automatic transmission. Not included are fog lights built into the front bumper, a rear fog light and a mud flap on the rear apron. The rear lights have a modernised square shape. According to the description in OMSI, the bus has 43 standing and 62 seating places, but in the interior, 37 standing and 76 standing places are specified differently. The two front door wings can be opened individually, the rear door is opened by a switch on the dashboard or by push button.

At the Berliner Verkehrsgesellschaft (BVG) the "DB E2H84" mentioned there was in service as a monoplane from 1984 until 2003 when the last remaining specimen was taken out of service. A striking feature of this first generation are the upright front turn signals and the square school bus turn signals at the upper rear - in reality later retrofitted.

    1.2. O305-E2H85 (Berlin Edition)

Corresponding to the E2H84, this Berlin model from 1985 is also exclusively equipped with a StÜLB front and automatic transmission. Also not available are fog lights built into the front bumper, a rear fog light and a mud flap at the rear. The rear lights have a modernized square shape, but the upper auxiliary turn signals are different in shape. The description in OMSI differs again, as in the 84, because the description specifies 43 standing and 62 seating positions and in the bus interior 37 standing and 76 standing positions. The door control corresponds to the 84 model.

The Berlin model "DB E2H85" was the last generation of the standard bus I and the BVG shunted the last one out in 2002. A striking feature of this second generation are the horizontal ("longitudinal") front turn signals and the - in reality later retrofitted - round school bus turn signals at the upper rear.

    1.3. O305 Standard (standard bus 1977)

This model is a standard bus I with VÖV front and curved windshield[4] (windshield "pushed in upwards"), as it was often found in the 70s and 80s. Fog lights are recessed in the front bumper, a mud flap is available at the rear. The rear lights are round and the turn signals are rectangular, the rear fog light is missing. This model has no direction indicators (turn signals) at the upper rear and is therefore not allowed for school bus operation.[5]

Optionally, automatic or manual (name affix Schaltwagen) gear shifting is possible. The front and rear doors are opened manually, with both wings simultaneously, using the buttons on the dashboard. A door opening possibility from outside is not available. This bus is in service on "Neuendorf".
