.ams files are conventional ZIP archives, only with a different file extension. The file extension can be reset as follows:
- First of all, the display of the file name extensions must be activated in Windows Explorer in the "View" tab.
- Then the .ams file is renamed so that the file extension becomes .zip.
- Then the file can be opened like a conventional ZIP archive.
Another possibility is offered by the program 7-zip, it can open .ams files directly from the context menu:
