OMSI2 Patch Changer [ENG]

  • The OMSI2 update of version 2.3x (major innovation: support of double-articulated buses) limits the streetcar functionality. Since the OMSI developers declare the development of the main game itself as finished and OMSI has not been maintained or patched since 2017, AEROSOFT, the publisher of OMSI, has provided a small add-on program to switch between the current OMSI version and the last working version for streetcars. So streetcars can still be used.

    1. Switching to an old version

    The OMSI 2 Patch Changer.exe file is located in the OMSI main directory. This is opened and is presented as follows:

    With a click you can switch between the two versions.


    The 4GB patch must be reinstalled after each application of the Patch Changer.

    1.1. Manual Installation

    If patching with the Patch Changer does not have any effect (no changed version number), OMSI2 can be patched manually as follows

    1. In the folder OMSI 2\_Stramway there are two .exe files containing the two different versions of OMSI
    2. Copy one of the two .exe files into the main folder of OMSI
    3. The old Omsi.exe is deleted, then the file just copied is renamed to Omsi.exe
