  • Does anyone know a way so I can make the steering wheel I have match the steering angle on the in-game bus - like you can do on the MAN NLC with that konfig?

I have tried adjusting the Steering_Angle_L in the modeldata and the inv_min_turnradius but neither worked, I could make the steering angle which I have on my IRL wheel (2200 degrees) in game, however the wheel is not synced. Does anyone know a fix? It would very helpful.

I attached a screenshot of what I mean for the MAN NLC, which is the only bus I can use because it's the only one with a konfig file that allows me to change and it works flawlessly.

  • Take a look at the model.cfg and search for the steering wheel animation:

This is what you're looking for, but keep in mind that this value will be be multiplied by Axle_Steering_0_L.

So in order to sync the 3D steering wheel to 2200 degrees (1100 degrees in each direction), you'll first need to know the max value for Axle_Steering_0_L (e.g. turn the wheel "hard over", save the situation and check the laststn.osn for the exact value). Let's say, it's 0.7 ==> 1100 / 0.7 = 1571 is the value needed for the model.cfg to give you 1100 degrees in each direction.

You will notice that even after syncing, the steering curve in OMSI isn't 100% linear. This tutorial might help for the last bit of perfection: LINK

Please note: This is the usual approach on "normal" buses without fancy config files in the background. Other buses like the MAN NLC or the Thüringer Wald buses will need individual treatment.

  • Hello again,

Thank you such a fast reply. I tried your method to change the in-game animation of the wheel and it totally worked, I also used the emulator method you linked to change the exponential acceleration of the steering axle which finally made the wheels sync up which is what I was looking for. THANK YOU, I have been trying to figure out a way to make this work since months back!!
