    Hello everyone,

    Once again, thank you all for your time in reporting bugs and posting opinions. :)

    Just to reiterate, bounding boxes and AK0139 stop forwarding and announcements will be fixed.

    @BusfahrerP: About the air conditioning unit, there is already a trigger that *should* prevent this from happening, but maybe it's not working correctly? I've tested it and it seems that the fan speed does not jump around, but maybe I can't reproduce this bug under certain conditions. Can you please tell me what temperature you have the AC unit set to? Also, is the fan in auto or manual mode? When you hear the fan jumping, can you please tell me between what percentages? You can check this by pressing the fan icon in the AC controller.

    Nevermind, I was able to reproduce it. Will fix.

    I will also add some more power to the AC unit, so it can maintain temperature better :)

    @fOcUs04: Thank you so much. I'll also take a look at the AI... I just took it for a lap of Grundorf and it seems to be shifting gears fine, although I'm not yet sure what could be causing the door problem. But I have noticed the AI driver likes to ride the clutch a lot :D

    @DanielO: Will be fixed

    @Chrxs: Nice catch, will be fixed also.

    @Player1990Ge: I can also fix this :)

    About the retarder, you can currently map keys to the retarder by using the "S415_retarder_dn" and "S415_retarder_up" triggers.

    As I understand, the "retarder_aufschalten" and "retarder_abschalten" are more common triggers used by a lot of buses, so this will be changed in the next patch - avoids having to re-map the retarder multiple times.

    Hello everyone,

    First of all, thank you so much for the nice comments! I am already seeing a lot of skins being made, and I am glad that something I did is worth your time, so a big thank you from me. <3

    The hotfix has been updated to include the fix for the invisible S412B.

    Now, about the automatic transmission: this WILL be included in a future update, as it has been in development for a while. I am sorry to disappoint some of you, but this feature will be added soon. :)

    @IREgio612: Nice catch. This is the result of me trying to fix bugs just before release :D Please re-download the hotfix, the textures should be fine now - this should also fix the black driver glass.

    @der_Nik_ and @Pictor: Yes, please check the attachment below. I've added blank .png as well as .pdn layered files :)

    @Wambosteiner: Combined DRL/fog lights will be added into the update list. :)

    @Alexander202 and @amiachim: I was unable to reproduce your bug, but I did find some weirdness in the repaints .cti file. Please re-download the hotfix and tell me if this works. If not, please send me your log file.

    Die Lenkräder drehen sich sehr wenig, habe versucht das selbst anzupassen, wenn ich aber den Wert von 900 auf 2160 stelle, lädt OMSI den Bus nicht mehr

    If I understand your question correctly, do you want to make the steering wheel rotate more? Like the steering wheel in the SD202's? More modern buses have better steering gearboxes and assisted steering pumps, and they don't really rotate as much as older buses. But if you wish to make the steering wheel turn 2160 degrees, changing the following should make it work. If this does not work for you, you can send me your model.cfg so I can take a look.

    Open the model.cfg file you wish, and search for "_swheel.o3d", and change

    It's finally released! I hope you guys have fun! :D

    Please report any bugs/opinions you might find so I can fix them :)

    So there are some critical bugs regarding the S417UL. I have already submitted a patch, but I have made the hotfix available here, until the original branch gets updated.

    Next week should be a patch fixing the AK0139 bugs and bounding boxes, plus anything else you might find.

    This hotfix contains:

    -S417UL should display correctly

    -Non-animated front door glass for S412UL fixed

    -Buses don't spawn dirty anymore (leftover test variable - sorry :( )

    -Invisible skins for S412UL and S412 Business

    Current tasks for the next update:

    -Reworked sound kit from the God himself, Perotinus

    -Fix AK0139 stop forwarding

    -Bounding boxes

    -Remodelled mirrors for the UL variants

    -Classic plastic dividers and non-LED blinkers for the UL versions

    -Side and rear matrix displays (settable via .cti)

    First of all, happy new year to everyone! :D

    Now, onto what is *hopefully* the last update before release.

    Simply put, it is done. The last month has been pretty much just checking that everything works properly make the thing as bug-free as possible. Also, I've been busy doing a couple of real - and semi-fictional - repaints. Initially, I thought about only doing a handful of real repaints specific for each variant, but I eventually decided to make all skins available for all buses (11 skins + 3 flat colors). Yes, a repaint kit is included already. :)

    Oh, and I also added a small tablet to check the schedule and line list, as well as the trip number and driver PIN, both necessary for the ticket machine.

    As far as an automatic version, it will not be available for initial release. However, it will be included in an update as it is already in development.

    Thank you very much for your support! Release should come soon. :)

    No, it's not dead yet. :P

    So, unfortunately, I have to begin this post with some bad news. Due to time constraints, I will not be making the GT version for the initial release. This might change in the future, but no promises.

    Now, onto the actual news. :D

    The buses are almost done. The UL and Business range now all have their respective S412, S415 and S417 variants, and the AK0139 ticket printer and LAWO controller are also complete. As far as customization options, there are two options of hubcaps (modern and classic), the touring version of the passenger seats, covers over the roof hatches like Andvari suggested - however, these are only available on the Business models, since the ULs have them as standard - and glass roof hatches. All of these are modelled and in-game to some capacity, but there are still bugs to fix.

    The AK0139 works by inserting a line number, then picking along the available routes with the side buttons, as well as setting the departure time. The main screen will also display the current bus stop, next stop as well as schedule information. In this screen, you can select tickets to print using the side buttons. Some functions present in the real machine, like being able to delete or add certain bus stops along routes, have been omitted though.

    As far as the LAWO controller goes I'd like to thank @Wambosteiner for the information provided. All of the functions are scripted - including starting screen - and also allows for 4 number lines, or three plus a suffix. If a valid line is detected, the next stop will be displayed to you, as well as the ability to mute or enable the audible announcements. If not, you will be presented with a special field, displaying what is currently displayed in the matrix.

    Hello everyone, :)

    Thank you so much for the suggestions. I obviously won't be able to acomodate every request, since I have to draw the line somewhere. However, I think I can come up with a plan now.

    So, the only real difference I can spot between the exterior of the Euro 5 and Euro 6 variants are the rear grill only. Things like the mirrors and the logo above the door seem to be differences between the "normal" and business-class models, or just different equipment requested by operators, and not actually related to build year as far as I can tell. The list right now, as it stands for the UL models:

    • "Route" and "Transit" seats - should work pretty well with the same passenger cabin coordinates, unless they have very different dimensions; (like @BusfahrerP suggested)
    • Glass doors and painted doors - this seems to be one of the main differences between the normal and business-class. The painted front door appears to come with the logo over the passsenger windows, I wasn't really able to find examples of the logo existing without the door or the other way around. The front and back doors will have seperate .cti entries;
    • Plastic and painted mirrors;
    • Glass roof hatches ( like Andvari suggested);
    • Euro 5 / Euro 6 grill;
    • Hubcaps;

    Now, @BusfahrerP actually was able to predict what I was going to do for the GT series :P In fact, that's why I'm going to leave that family for last, since it's going to require quite a bit of remodeling. However, my plan is to build the older 2008-style cockpit (since I just think it's prettier, and it would be different from the UL cockpit), with the older steering wheel and monochrome green/black trip computer. Now, I can't really say much about this until I actually start working on it, but this would obviously make it more like an E5 variant. I can make the steering wheel changeable from the .cti no problem, but as far as making two different versions of the dashboard computer changeable with the .cti, I'm not sure how feasible it will be. More information will come once it's available. But the GT will defenentley have the older style cockpit, since it's different from the modern one and I just really like the big 2008's steering wheel model. :P

    @TZ01: I'm not sure yet about the S412. Something I really don't want to do is make a single door/double door version for all the planned buses, since while it seems simple enough to do, it actually requires a lot of different modelling/mapping/texture work, and I think I would rather use that time to work on other things. Something I can do is make the 412 versions single door only, and the bigger brothers double doors. Still not sure, as I progress with the project I'll provide more information. But, like I said, I will not make single door/double door variants for all the buses - this will transform the planned 6 buses into 12 different models, and I just think that's too much work for such a small thing. Not to mention that it will require different passenger cooridnates and such, and will not be able to be changeable from the .cti file.

    Again, thank you so much for the kind words and help you guys have provided. :D

    I should have some progress to show soon. :)

    Thank you very much for the warm reception and all the kind words. :)

    So, some awnsers/oppinions:

    • For the destination controller, I'll deffenentley make either a Gorba-CU 5 ou a LAWO SICMA - with the correct functions scripted of course. Any pictures, manuals, information, etc., just post it here or send me a private message. Every extra resource is very useful for me. :)
    • Thank you so much for all the suggestions for the ticket machine. I'm not sure yet, but once I start making them you guys will be the first to know. However, I really prefer machines that have the user-manuals available (like BVG suggested) , since they make my job a lot easier, and I'm also able to make a more realistic script. Again, any resources you might have are more than welcome, so just send them if you'd like to. I want to make at least two models (since I really enjoy making ticket machines, for some reason :P ), however I'm not sure I'll reuse the Optima from the O405. I might add it to give some more variety, but there will be new ticket machines for sure.
    • As some of you noticed, the sounds are from an Euro 5. They still need adjustment, and I'll do my best to improve them, since I acknowledge that sound design is deffenentley my worst skill. However, I was unable to find usable recordings for an Euro 6 OM-936, so for the moment, only Euro-5 sounds will be included. Again, samples, recordings, etc. are all very welcome. Only manual transmission is planned for now.
    • As far as customization, Euro 5 and Euro 6 grille will be available, as well as hubcaps. I don't know what else to add to the .cti file, since these buses don't really seem to have many differences in between them. The only thing I don't really want to do is make the baggage racks removable, since that would look bad with the current shadows in the interior texture, and it would probably require two entire models and textures for the interior to make it look right (one with shadows and one without shadows)
    • @BusfahrerP : Yes, I use a G25 myself :D

    Again, thank you very much for your suggestions. :)

    RELEASE DAY POST + S417UL HOTIFX:

    RE: [WIP/Payware] Intercity S41x

    ----------------------------------------------------

    Hello everyone. :)

    So, this project has been in development for the past four years or so, and I think it's finally progressed enough to be announced.

    But before I do that, I would like to write something: I want to give a very big thank you to everyone that supported my O405 project. Over the last three and a half years, I've been busy trying to complete college and, as of this January, I'm now graduated as a mechanical engineer. And that would not have been possible without your support. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. :heart:

    Now, onto the bus itself:

    Type of project:

    Bus

    Name of project:

    Intercity S41x

    Details:

    The S41x UL line is a well-established line of overland buses in production since 2007.

    The current OMSI variant in progress is the S415-UL. The bus itself is pretty much complete, apart from a few missing components. The models, textures and lightmaps are pretty much final (unless there is something wrong with them, of course), and the major sounds are pretty much done - special thanks to Felix S. for the door sounds :D - At the moment, the current focus is to expand the family line, and start making the destination controller and the ticket machine.

    To-Do list:

    • S412UL / S417UL
    • S41x-GT family
    • Ticket machine (any ideas on what make/model? I'm still not sure what to add)
    • Destination controller (will probably be some sort of LAWO compact unit, but I haven't started anything yet so change is completely possible :P )
    • Kneeling function
    • Retarder
    • Dirt Textures
    • "Ambient" sounds

    Suggestions, improvements and comments, good or bad, are always welcome. :)

    Below are a couple of pictures and a video to show the current progress:
