I've tried various options. At the moment, I found a working instance of ALU on another resource. Thank you all for your help!

Staaken79 Changinge filenames is the simplest of the steps. Changing all the map-files a lot more work, especially with al large map such as ALU. Don't forget to mention this, especially wit 'new' users.

It's easier to give up this idea and not play ALU. This is not the first time I've encountered such a problem, even with DLC from Steam. I once wrote to the developers themselves, but they couldn't help me. I think it's not good on their part. The whole world is playing this game and everyone has to suffer because of ß, ü, ö, ä. Changing the locale doesn't help me either. Sad...

The problem seems to be that your computer has not installed the German language. Therefore it does not recognize some German letters (ß, ü, ö, ä).

You can fix it like this:

You could change your system language to German. (just for playing Omsi, or as a second account).

Or you have to rename these objects and folders, but this takes time and patience.
