Hello everyone,

I’m ShikoSama, the main map developer of OMSI 2 Add-on: Project Numazu. Together with Aurora Studio and Aerosoft, I’ve been working to bring the first fully crafted Japanese city into OMSI.

Before Numazu, I also created Project Tsing Yi, a Hong Kong-based OMSI 2 map featuring the urban scenery and transport atmosphere of Tsing Yi and Kwai Fong. That project was my starting point in combining local realism with OMSI’s simulation system.

With Project Numazu, I’m putting over ten years of 3D scenery experience into a larger international project: right-hand traffic, Japanese bus models, and the seaside atmosphere of Shizuoka. Two routes (N13 & N45) are already playable, with over 100 stops, and the streets are brought to life with a wide variety of AI traffic — not only buses from neighboring cities like Mishima and Atami, but also everyday Japanese cars, delivery trucks, garbage collection vehicles, police cars, ambulances, and fire engines. Long-distance coaches and sightseeing tour buses also share the roads, while JR passenger and freight trains run alongside the map to complete the authentic Japanese transport atmosphere.

This project is both a technical challenge and a cultural passion—Numazu is famous for its coastal scenery and also anime-related tourism, so I wanted to capture that unique mix without losing OMSI’s realism.
