Stadtbus Ikarus i260 Serie (Infos)

OMSI 2 Romania presents a pack that is sure to bring back nostalgic memories for many of you: Bucharest-themed repaints for the payware add-on Citybus i260 (Ikarus 260).

In 1991, 151 Ikarus 260.50 buses arrived at RATB in a single shipment. Legend has it that these were originally intended for the USSR, which had since collapsed, and were thus redirected to Bucharest.

Another 26 units ordered specifically for RATB, #42–#67, manufactured in 1993, joined them in service in 1994.

A large portion of the fleet underwent major repairs (RK) in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The scrapping of the Ikarus 260 buses began in 2007, with the arrival at RATB of the last 500 Mercedes-Citaro Euro 4 buses.

In 2008, two ex-RATB buses arrived in Fetești: #44 and #66. In 2019, #44 was scrapped, while #66 was saved in 2021 by an enthusiast.

The following repaints are available in this pack:

RATB Bucharest #1 (2000s)

RATB Bucharest #65 (2006)

RATB Bucharest "Tuborg" #396 (1998)

RATB Bucharest "Camel" #646 (1991)

RATB Bucharest "RODAE" #20 (1996)

RATB Bucharest "Radio Contact" #397 (1998)
