  • Hello, you lovely people (that's a good start, eh?)

I'm trying to repaint a Mercedes Sprinter mini-bus to make it look like a panel van. The problem is, how can I modify the side-window areas to make them look like'solid' panels? None of the painting techniques I know can successfully achieve this effect.

Can anyone explain how to do this, or can you recommend a good tutorial ???

  • Well, I'm disappointed. I was sure that with all the incredibly talented people out there in Omsi-Land that someone would at least have some clue how to do this. I'm forced to conclude that this must be a fiendishly complicated task, beyond even the best of all the modders, repainters, and computer geniuses that populate our wonderful community. Christmas is now completely ruined .... :(

try locating the windows in the model.cfg and remove the matl_alpha tag, but i dont know how the windows are on that thing, it could be that the front/side windows will be non-transparent to what would make it undriveable and then you would have to edit the Bus in Blender which would make it 10 times more complicated.

Thanks, Jlnade. The mere thought of blender gives me a migraine, ha! But I'll try your suggestion. I could perhaps get close to the effect by heavily tinting the windows, but even that is beyond my skill level right now. I'll just have to keep trying ...
