Is there already a support thread for the Valiant Citybus Family?

The bus is very nicely implemented and the sounds are also very recognizable, but I noticed four minor things.

    1. When you turn off the engine, the electrical system always turns off.

    2. Does the bus have a stop brake with or without door release, and which switch is it?

    3. Is it correct that with the Solo version you have to press the Ctrl key (which in my case is the door release) and then you can open the second door? Will there still be a release for doors 3 and 4 so that they open automatically and not by clicking the buttons?

    4. Where is the switch for the roof hatches, and did the bus not have a ramp installed, or why can't you operate switch 17 on the old dashboard, just like the switch to the right of switch 16?

  • Hi thanks for your comment.

However, about the 1 point, I just recorded a facelift yesterday and I can confirm than when you stop the engine it also stop the elec, so that's not a bug.

The bus has a stop brake, it's the small stick on VDV and old dash, and the middle button on the bottom raw on the new dash.

I don't understand point 3 about door control buttons. Though I have in my backlog of idea, the plans to implement auto door in setvar in an update.

About point 4 the switch for the roof hatches are the one above your head (the green ones), and no there is no ramp on the bus, as it's useless feature because there are no disabled AI in OMSI.

  • Hi,

Indeed it has been reported, fortunately, I know why, unefortunately, I also paradoxally don't know why :"D

For some reason one of the screens on the VDV triggers a TUV 2 error, but I have no idea why as every texture of this screen is correct. Anyway, that's somethign I'll definitely fix in the first patch set to release in june.

  • Interestingly, it is a TUV 4 error for me. Opened the two textures in Paint.net, saved them again, changed to TUV 0.

Did some further testing: It is (somewhat?) caused by something related to lightning. Turning exterior lights on/off causes that stutter every time, though that does not explain why those stutters appear when driving as well. Tried deactivating the part that changes the display over to driving mode, no change. Sometimes, when driving, the display lights up for a single frame when that stutter happens.

But as far as I can tell that stutter has nothing to do with that weird TUV error caused by the blank texture, since it happens on all display modes, not just when driving/turning the lights on/off.
