  • 1. Which program do you have a problem with?

    Editor

    2. Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible.

Hello everyone! I’ve encountered a problem that I haven’t been able to solve for about a week now, and the most frustrating part is that, aside from one mention on the official forum, I haven’t found any other information about it.

The issue is that on my map, when driving along the red arrow (see screenshot), there’s a problem with the bus stops not updating. When I depart from the first stop on the line (following the red arrow), the “next stop” on the display doesn’t change and gets stuck on the first one.

Another strange issue is that when I drive along the green arrow, this problem doesn’t occur - but only on one of the routes. On the second route, which also follows the green arrow, the “next stop” also freezes and refuses to switch to the next one.

    3. If there is a helpful screenshot of the problem, you can upload and include it as a post attachment.

  • I think the problem is that the Stops are to close together.

    Yes and no.

On one hand, you're right: when I remove those two stops (or even just one of them) from the timetable, the "stop switching" works correctly with the active schedule. But that raises a question: why doesn't the same issue occur when I follow the green arrow?

Also, if you take a look at Grundorf (my map is based on it) and its Krankenhaus (see screenshot), you’ll notice that the stops there are also located very close to each other - actually, even closer than mine - but they still work correctly without any issues. :/

  • I agree, the bus stops are too close

I think, it is a matter of a very few meters, or even centimeters.

Grundorf Hospital has a distance of 38 m, roughly measured with a piece of spline.

I assume, your stop situation is after the gas station near North Tip Farmyard, close to the orginal Map border?

I also assume, you have not changed the distance between the 2 intersections, that form this turn around place?

on your red inner ring route, you only have a distance of 25 m, and while driving around, you maybe scratch close below 30 m distance.

while on your green outer ring route, you come over the 30 m, close to 38 m from the original hospital.

I don't know the distance, but maybe it is 30 or 35 meters.

  • Krankenhaus, as the final stop and the starting stop are two different trips.

no, i just checked in Editor, the trip Krankenhaus - Bauernhof starts at the Terminus, where the Trip Bauernhof - Krankenhaus arrives, so it kinda stops twice at the hospital

Ich dachte der Trip endet an einem anderen Busstop als der rückweg :"D.
I thought the trip would end at a different bus stop than the return trip :"D.

  • i also design trips like this and see it as a mandatory thing to make the trip for the AI "smooth" without plopping and (dis)appearing busses

  • Thank you so much for your reply! You were right - the distance turned out to be too short when going along the red arrow. So, instead of rebuilding the turnaround, I decided to switch to using Tracks, which, as I found out, don’t have this distance-related issue.

However, now a second strange problem has come up! As you can see in the screenshot I attached, sometimes the AI thinks that its final stop is closer than it actually is. The AI just stops, shuts off the engine, and waits for the next scheduled departure - even though it’s supposed to drive one more stop and wait there instead.

This doesn’t happen consistently, but it does happen often, and I can’t figure out why. I thought maybe I made a mistake while setting up the route, but I’ve double-checked everything and it seems correct. What’s more, the AI sometimes does manage to reach the correct final stop and complete the route as intended.:S
