Numazu City is now LIVE on Steam! 🌊

From the streets of Hong Kong (Project Tsing Yi) to the beautiful coast of Shizuoka, we are officially on the road.

    Hello everyone,

I’m Shiko from Hong Kong, previously the author of Hong Kong Project Tsing Yi for OMSI 2.

Now I’m working on something new: bringing Numazu City (Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan) into OMSI 2 as a full add-on with Japanese buses and right-hand traffic.

    About the Project

    • Location: Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture (coastal city, famous for its port and seaside views)

    • Driving Style: Left-hand traffic (LHT), Japanese road signs and traffic rules

    • Routes:

    Bus RouteDestinationRoute features
N12/N13Numazu Station ↺ Numazu PortShort urban line, downtown streets, tight intersections, heavy traffic
N41Numazu Station ↺ MeidenshaIndustrial / Factory Zones, workday shifts
N45Numazu Station ↺ Numazu PortScenic coastal route, seaside drive, landmarks, longer relaxed shifts
    • Vehicles: Japanese-style midibus and full-size bus (own custom models, dashboard, sounds, liveries)
    • Scenery: Combination of realistic Japanese urban districts, coastal roadways, and small anime-inspired details as Easter eggs
    • Professional Japanese Audio: Ambient sounds and announcements were created in collaboration with a Japanese sound team, ensuring every street and bus stop feels alive with the real spirit of Numazu.

    Current Progress

    • Numazu Station area – detailed and lively, with realistic road layouts, traffic and buildings

    • Honmachi → Station section – looks good and nearly complete

    • Numazu Port area – under active development. Scenery build‑out and texture polish are ongoing, with regular updates planned!

    • AI traffic: includes Japanese private cars, taxis, trucks, emergency vehicles, Tour buses and Rail Trains from neighboring cities (Mishima, Atami, Fuji)

    Technical Requirements

To ensure the map functions correctly and looks as intended, please note:

    • Recommended:Enhanced Environment Pack (for lighting and sky textures)
    • Recommended: AI People - Asia Edition for the most realistic atmosphere

    Development Notes

We are committed to continuous improvement. Since this is our first week of release, here is our current focus:

    • 📅 Weekly Update Schedule: Every Monday/Tuesday, we will push a patch to Steam addressing community feedback.
    • 🚧 Current Focus: We are actively refining AI behavior at complex intersections, polishing scenery gaps in the Port area, and optimizing FPS for smoother performance.
    • 📈 Future Improvements: Expect new screenshots, continuous texture polish, and bugfixes as we move towards a more perfect recreation of Numazu.

    💬 FEEDBACK & COMMUNITY
Your bug reports are the key to our weekly patches!

Feedback is very welcome – especially from those who know Numazu or have experience with Japanese traffic!

If you spot issues or have suggestions, feel free to reply here. Community input will help polish the final version.

  • Good evening

Really cool map & I'm looking forward to it. Finally, a map with a different feel and all.

Nice pictures, and the bus looks cool too.

Can we expect it this year, 2025, or not until 2026??

Or will the map be available in the next few days? :) :)

    I'm really excited.

And that Aerosoft is releasing it with you, really cool.

I also hope it will be playable and drivable in BBS & LSS and that there won't be any problems. :) :)

    Mit freundlichen Grüßen

    René

  • Thanks a lot for your kind words and excitement!

The team is still polishing the map and buses so that the DLC reaches the quality we’re aiming for. While we can’t give a fixed release date yet, let’s just say we want it to feel like a special gift for the community when it’s ready. 🎁✨

Everything will be prepared to run smoothly in OMSI 2, and we’re doing our best to make sure there won’t be any issues.

Your support really motivates us, and we’re thrilled to see how much players are looking forward to Numazu!

  • Hello everyone,

As promised, we now have something new to share – the first official trailer for Project Numazu! 🚍✨

To keep things clear and easy to follow, I’ve opened a separate thread dedicated to the trailer. You can check it out here:

👉 Project Numazu – Official Trailer 1 (OMSI 2 Japan DLC)

We’d be really happy if you drop by, watch the trailer in 4K, and share your impressions there!

Thanks again for all the support – it really keeps us motivated to push forward with the project.

    Best regards,

    ShikoSama & Aurora Studio

  • I wanted to ask if you'll be making the DLC playable for BBS & LSS.

Because I suspect that with these maps, compatibility with BBS & LSS is always a bit of a gamble.

I hope you'll keep this in mind and get in touch with the people on the Trip Team when your add-on is ready.

It would be a shame if it gets rejected and never comes to BBS & LSS!

  • I am not sure about that maybe we will discuss with Aerosoft and PeDePe

  • Good evening.

Well, it was just a suggestion, because if it ends up not being available for BBS & LSS for whatever reason, then the only option is to play OMSI offline.

It would be great if this could be fixed beforehand, or at least resolved so that it works on the day of the DLC release.

    And can be integrated.

    That would be cool.

Because I see that many maps, especially foreign ones, are always rejected or have errors or problems that then can't be fixed.

    René
