Hi,
It's a tricky one this. If you've been in one of these buses IRL you know that the lighting is really weak in them. Saddly it means people complain in omsi. But I'd rather have a realistic visual than having bright as hell light just to have the passengers happy.
-
I will conclude this pathetic discussion.
Just for evryone to be on the same page, I don't thing I have been lazy with fixes on this bus, let's remind everyone that I already did 2 updates on the products, and that all the main bugs were fixed. There is only one left and I never said I wouldn't fix it. i juste said I HADN'T FOUND the solution yet. And despite what Chrizzly says, i neversaid I wasn't getting any help.
Perotinus,
I see you guys all complaining about my customer support, frankly I have no idea why, I've never seen a creator more active on a sammelthred before. Some (many) DLC still stay with unnaceptable bugs/poor workmanship without having been fixed and they probably will never be fixed. So let's all put feet down to earth and put things into perspective.
To be more direct :
-Chrizzly92, you have had some very interesting arguments in that conversation, but you have had such an aggressive tone without any apparent reason. I understand you may be dispointed I did not find a solution to 1 bug, but i'm not as confident with scripts than you. That is my biggest weakness. But have you really followed the whole thread or are you just here to say you and your DLCs are better than everyone else ? If you really have followed the thread, you should have noticed that I only stopped looking for the door bug, because I don't know avout you I'm not a magician. How can I fix something I can't witness myself ? When I say there is only 1 big bug left, you say steam users say otherwise, have you even considerd that som bugs were reported there before they were fixed in an update, moreover, you seem confuse people that don't like a feature, with people reporting bugs. Yes some users don't like the door animation/sound, but that's their opinion, they are done that way with video references. Yes some people are not happy about the fixed inside temperature, but that's a choice not a bug. Yes some people don't like some textures, but some other do like them. Moreover you don't even own my DLC, so how dare you saying the quality of my product is lower than yours ? Maybe it is, but you didn't even try it !!
-Perotinus, I know you reported some thing that should/could be updated, but those are not bugs, those are only innacuracies that someone that doesn't know the buses as you do wouldn't even have noticed, that's why I preffered to release an update faster to fix bugs instead of fixing everything which I can't do with the time I currently have. I really appreciate the help/reports you have made me. Despite what Chrizzly thinks, I have listend to all your critics, and they are all written somewhere on a to do list. With that said, I have always been unconfortable with the fact you used to compare my DLC and your SETRA you are working on, and the insults you made about the quality of my sounds. I don't say you do all that on purpose, though you should be aware these allusions create a relatively unhealthy climate of competition between you and me. To be more direct, you are not 100% objective on this subject so I'm not sure I'm liking the fact you take the deffence of Chrizzly who has been aggressive from start despite having said some very true things.
-Lazarus, You also are aggressive against me. i don't like that, I already told you about that. If you can't understand that and adjust your tone to be nicer to me, well that's a pity.
All 3 of you are what I would qualify important people of the community in different way. Chrizzly and perotinus, I respect your work, but this all had to be said. All 3 of you, just take the time to ask yourself that question "Am i still legitimate in what i'm saying ?" you all feel in your own right because you are all on same page to say I'm a terrible person, but read back what you say and ask yourslef if the tone you are using since the start of that shitstorm is really justified.
xander1986 : i agree with you, such sterile debate does not give a nice image. You are also 100% right with the fact that should have happened in private. I'm really sorry you had to witnesse that. Though I'm not liking your insinuation about me changing my manners, as I said, I've done everything I could to satisfy customers up to now, but I'm still human, so yes, when i feel offended, I defense myself. P
lease keep in mind that this is my first DLC. Yes, i've been massively helped by Acrotere design who has more experience than me on the subject, but even him is a bit overwhelmed by what's happening here.
If beeing nice to customers, fix everything ASAP gives you this kind of shitstorm, I start to understand why a certian creator I will have the decence not to name, has chose to aliminate all contacts with his community, and has never released a single one update.
To conclude I'm fed up with that shitstorm, and I will ask the moderation team to clean up that mess.

To give some practical input to this discussion, I want to renew some bug reports on the model.
1. In Euro 2 the vent slot of the air filter is still existing. This slots shouldn't be on an Euro 2.
2. The interior grids of the Aircondition are missing, as well as the hubs of the small roof vents:
3. There are still main parts of the support rods missing in F3-view. It would be ugly but acceptable on an AI bus, but on my player bus I want to see that parts from the outside.
4. There still isn't any support to the roof missing to the long support rag on the left side:
5. The A pillar should be verical to the Windshield and not curved or at an angle:
Maybe these inaccuracies are more easy for you to fix than the script problems.
Thanks for the report
Again about your 4th point, as I told you last time, there is nothing missing here, this was done after a picture of the axact bus represented, though I agree that looks strange.
-
yeah, now you can help your two customers to get a working bus instead.
About these two customers, I stand by the fact the bug they encounter, I have never encountered myself despite trying everything to fix it.
I’m sure you know as well as me that it’s impossible to fix something you haven’t witnessed.
It’s like me asking you to change the battery on your car, but it has never failed and you don’t even know where it is.
To fix that I need to hear about more people having the problem, maybe I will be able to find a common point between them.
Though I’ll be able to fix the freezing indicator lights on the VDO, that shouldn’t have anything to do with the doors. That was just my best guess on something to try.
-
just because you have more positive reviews than negative ones it doesnt make your reviews "good". especially the release ones. also, you dont get the point. no one is perfect, no one blames you for having bugs in a release version. same stuff happened to me, to others, probably to everyone that did a commercial DLC. its your attitude towards fixing something and towards criticism.
its your attitude towards foreign languages. its your attitude towards having "only one bug" (the comment above says that ac/heater isnt working correctly, fogs dont work correctly, door sounds seem off ) but this comment alone points out at least 3.
without owning the dlc myself, i cant look into it so i could just guess whats the issue with that. i do have a guess though but its not my job to fix it for you, otherwise i would've scripted that thing in the first place.
first thing that comes in mind as a quick fix to help users is just to lock the engine start trigger until the timer for dash initialization is finished. so even if a kid trys "to start the engine before the electrics have finished initialisation"™ thats probably two lines of code added to a trigger at max and you dont have to be "me" or an experienced developer to do that. you do have to get off your "cant do it, nah" train though to think about possible solutions.
so there is your solution. still not gonna buy that dlc until you start respecting potential customers, even if their criticism isnt "constructive" enough for your likings.
in germany, we have a saying that goes: "getroffene Hunde bellen." Und wenn du dich beleidigt fühlst, scheint die Kritik ja gar nicht so weit hergeholt zu sein.
In diesem Sinne: kannst den Bug ja jetzt fixen, Workaround steht ja da.Thank you for the tip to fix my problem.
I won’t argue more with you about the rest..
-
so you expect a 13 year old, that potentially bought your add-on to understand how complex electronics work, without evem having a drivers license for a car or even a bus?
your excuse for not finding the reason for the bug is called organizational blindness. sure thing you cant find it because you do the same key presses and timings all the time. Other people are NOT like you and they do stuff different and therefore they have different results so its YOUR responsibility to think different and wrap your head around how and why a specific thing is happening. it has nothing to do with ghosts, the reasons are scripts that are created without thinking about them enough. so after all, i can ask you to chase "ghosts" because there is always a reason for a specific misbehaviour.i don't care if you like my tone. actually, its just a reaction to your postings in here so how about starting to work on your attitude towards bugs and criticism first - if you do, comments in here wouldn't be as toxic and your product would be way better.
Sadly, steam reviews seem to reflect your attitude aswell.Well, steam reviews are good. But your attitude is as deplorable as you think mine is
take a mirror and watch yourself in it. If you had read the entire thread, you would have noticed I tried every possibles combinaison of action to try and recreate the bug, you know, not as I do usually… so if I can’t have the bug even if I do absolutely everything wrong, I don’t know how I could fix it…
I’m sorry I’m not as good as you with scripts, but that’s not a reason to talk to me like that.
So now if you have some CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to help me found that issue, I all for that, but if you are only here to insult me, I can’t be bothered to read you anymore.
-
sorry, but it is your responsibility to catch script related errors as a developer. saying "oh, you tried to open the doors but the dash isnt booted yet" isnt the fault of the customer, its yours.
i don't own the add-on but i thought about getting it. after reading comments though i highly doubt i get a well scripted and well-kept project.
if you cant fix it, learn it. Otherwise you should join team LOTUS or TML's bugfest with that kind of attitude.Yes I know it is my responsibility to catch script problem.
There is only 1 known bug
It has limited effect, only the lights on the VDO dash that freezes. And by the way, its not good practice to start the engine before the electrics have finished initialisation.
It's not because I have not found the solution that I'm not doing anything to find it !!!!
And for that bug with doors that only 2 persons have expericenced, nobody has expericenced it, even me whatever I did. You cant ask me to chase ghosts do you.
I don't like your tone and I urge you to change it.
-
Exactly,
I mean the orange side marker lights.
Of course, this is not a serious bug, but it does look a bit unsightly.
However, I can't see it from the steering wheel.
regards
Daniel
Don't worry it'll be fixed at some point
-
The Script isn‘t good at all
Thank you for you kindness mate. You may say you don't like the script, but the door animation is modeled after some videos id est : they are 100% accurate.
Next time you wanna be mean to me, or other creators, keep it to yourself. Remember as an "aerosoft insider" you bear the image of aerosoft, I'm sure they would not like their name associated to this kind of useless, non argumented comment of yours.
Though I thank you for your confirmation of the door beeing operational.
The only thing I have noticed so far are the marker lights that shine through the open door 2. (busmodel 1+2+1)
Please keep up the good work. I like your addon
Hi
thank you for your kind comment
I suppose you are talking about the orange side markers ? I'll have a look for a future update. However, since it's not a critical bug it'll wait for more content to be ready for release
-
Hi!
Unfortunately I have some troubles with the doors. The doors will not close after a periode of time. So i can push the Door-Close Bottuns, but the doors are still open. Sometimes one door close in the middle.
Exactly the Same Problem i have !
I know, but as I said in the previous message, whatever I do I cannot replicate your bug, I have no idea what you are doing wrong to get that. My best guess might be that you start the engine to fast without waiting for the initialisation of the electrics ?
Since, for now you are the only 2 people having this bug, I can't justify spending all my time chasing a ghost bug
I hope you'll undertand.

ANNOUCEMENT
2 users have reported a door bug. Apparently the door starts freezing after 3 stops, I mean, the door opperates normally but the game is acting like it's open.
No matter what I've tried, I have never been succesfull in trying to encounter that bug.
- I've played countless hours with the bus on my main PC (a tower PC with a strong configuration)
- I've even tried it on my Laptop with a lot weaker configuration (tested today, 5 minutes ago)
-I've tried to make the bus bug by strarting the engine before the electrics were initiated (tested today, 5 minutes ago)
- I've played with and without the mod logo (tested today, 5 minutes ago)
- I have AUXI tools installed, but I've tried the bus without it as well.
I have NEVER, in any of these tests encountered any bugs relating to doors. Not one single bug....
I think I have done all I could to help those 2 users, I hope for all of you this is an isolated case.
With that said
There in 1 known bug in the bus, that I have never succeded to fix : if you start your engine before the electrics have finished their inisitalisation, the indicating lights on the VDO dash will freeze in an on position. Please wait for the lights to turn off before starting engine, that's the only bug to my knowledge that could potentially affect the playability of the bus.
Thanks for reading me, and I hope you enjoy the SETRA as much as I enjoyed making it

Here ii have got pictures to prove it
Well, then that might have been a customer choice in which of the double front doors the logo was placed
Maybe, but to be honnest I've never seen a 2+2 variant with the logo on the door 1, always on door 0, although not always on the top like in the mod logo
-
Concerning the door I have the theory that this is because of an invisible door0.
All 315s (1+2 and 2+2) use the same "doors_2D.osc" script. So, in terms of variables, the 1+2 actually have four doors, even if only three are visible.
And on the 2+2 I from time to time encounter an effect, that the door0 does not close. I do not know why, maybe it is tue to a split second lagging in the wrong moment. Maybe this is what causes the effect on the 1+2 too a omsi "thinks" that not all door on the bus are closed and behaves accordingly. Opening and closing solves the issue (as in all IT "have you tried switching it off and on again")
Hi, That's a good theory but th'as not it, in fact It's not that the 1+2 has 3 doors and the script has 4, I programed the 1+2 to have 4 doors like a 2+2, there's just one that is invisible. The "door 0" simply doesn't exist as a 3d mesh, but in the scripts it's fictional door that happens to have the exact same animation as the "door 1" so that when the physical "door 1" is opened, passenger can enter immediately ("door 0" is slower on 2+2, so if the constfile is the same between the 2, passenger will wait for fictional "door 0" to be opened). So the script side is not the issue.
However, your theory about the lag may be closer to the truth, indeed, SETRA doors have a very jolty animation, which is reproduced in omsi. if you freeze exactly at a time where the door is supposed to be very slow, it may not finish it's closing/opening sequence. Indeed, such slow speed are achievable only when the door has momentum. But when the door arrives at its slower speed, it hasn't got enough pressure to finish.
I'm not sure i'm very clear.
But basically, if the problems comes because the game freezes at the wrong time, it may be because the PC is too weak to run omsi. in that case, I can upload a script for the doors where the animation is not correct, but smoother which would eliminate the bug.
However as far as I understand, the bug they talk about (so far only 2 have complained about that) is that the door moves correctly, but the bus thinks they are not closed evn though they are. If this is the problem, my guess is it has something to do with the electrics not beeing correctly initiated.
Zitat von Sven2540
Btw. on a different topic: on all 315NF with 2+2 on pictures the logosign "S315NF" is located on door 1, not on door 0, but that may be a coincedence. On that subject i'm not sure i follow you, do you mean that IRL the logo is on door 1 ? Or do you think the fact the logos are not on the same doors can creat the bug ?
In both case I would answer no :p Here ii have got pictures to prove it :p

But is it a real feature that the initiation of the dashboard electronics freezes when starting the engine too fast? If not, this is a big bug that has to be fixed!
It is not a feature, but unfortunately this can't be fixed. This is due to the VDO dash in SETVAR creating problem.
This is a bug yes, but with a little bit of patience it can be avoided.
In technical management, we say that acceptability=importance*probability. The lower the number, the more acceptable it is. If the user just wait for initialisation to be complete, then probability = 0, thus acceptability = 0, this bug is then acceptable. Hence i'm living with it.
I've tried to fix it, but it doesn't work. Maybe one day I'll find the solution, but for now my best advice is just wait for lights to turn off before starting engine.
It's also good practice in real life since on diesel engine, pre heating glow plugs need to finish their initialisation before the engine can be started, so it's not too big of a deal
However, about the door, I'm not certain this bug is related to that initialisation problem, but I've never encounterd this bug myself either, even in beta phase, so i have no idea
-
Oooh I undertand, you have not waited enough between sterting electrics and starting the engine. Wait for the lights on the dash to turn off before strating engine.
-
Thank you for the info. Is the bus in its last version ? I suggest you delete completely the folder of the bus in omsi and try to re-install it. I've played countless hours with the bus and never had a similar issue, so that's my only advice for now
-
I personnaly think the €5 rear is spot on as this picture can attest. In grey it shows better. The odd wing shapes on the engine hatch seem to be optional though, as they dont appear on @Toms Koopa picture. Or maybe it's engine hatch from a Facelift as a replacement for a broken part ?

Hi!
Unfortunately I have some troubles with the doors. The doors will not close after a periode of time. So i can push the Door-Close Bottuns, but the doors are still open. Sometimes one door close in the middle.
Hi
According to your logfile, you only played with the bus for 3 minutes.. I've played with it for hours without having the doors faling at all... Can I have a logfile where you actually played for the bus and got the problem ?
With so little information I can't help you.
-
Well send me your logfile then
