  • Hi everyone,

I’m currently creating a repaint for a Setra S315 UL 1994 model bus using Photoshop, but I’ve run into a strange issue during the process.

I created the repaint, added an alpha channel, and exported it as a DDS file.

The game loads it without any errors, but in-game the bus roof and doors don’t show up — they appear completely transparent.

I’ve also tried editing the .cti file and manually adding several parameters, but it didn’t make any difference.

Does anyone know how to fix this kind of issue?

  • the '94 Model comes with much less variants, having no fully glass doors or air condition.

If you instruct in the .cti to have air condition (could be e. g. setvar value 2), no roof will show, because the roof variants will be only visible with value 0 or 1

If you want to put fully glass doors (could be also setvar valvue 2), the same, there is only half and low metal variants available, also with e. g. value 0 or 1)

see Addon's manual for available options, variants and setvar values

PS Edit: don't open the same topic twice

  • I tried setting the air condition(vis_klimaanlage) setvar value to 0, but the roof is still transparent in-game.

I also tried setting the door setvar value (vis_tueren) to 1, but the doors still appear transparent in-game, just like in the screenshot.

However, in other repaints for the 1994 model, the roof shows up correctly even when the air condition value is set to 2. How is that possible?

  • are you sure, you edit the right files in the correct folder? It was just an example, but it is acutally exactly like this, with the numbers i told out of my head, the 1994 Model does not have A/C and doors value 2 available.

can you upload your and the working .cti?

The Regiobus_Franken file is the official repaint .cti file that came with the DLC, and Spandau_AI is the .cti file I’m creating to be used as an AI repaint for the 1994 model bus.

If you download and open the Spandau_AI file, you’ll see that—unlike other repaint .cti files—it only contains the farbschema_exterior section and some [setvar] values.

However, when I worked on the Euro 3 vehicle repaint before, I wrote the file in the same way, and it worked perfectly fine without any problems.

So I made this one a bit simplified in the same way, and I hope you can understand that.

And I made sure to place the DDS file (with the alpha channel applied) in the Repaints_S315UL_94 folder and applied it correctly.

  • Very strange... I quickly created a very basic repaint to your cti, and it just worked fine. The colour is just a basic Paint.net colour, since I was too lazy to look out for the sand yellow original, so no worries here.

how do you export the dds, maybe there is an issue? Paint.net can export dxt1 (no alpha), dxt 3 (full or no alpha), dxt5 (also semi alpha), dxt 5 is needed here? Alpha channel applied correctly?

    I’ve checked the reply.

Ah, yes. I worked on it using Photoshop 2024.

I applied the alpha channel and exported it with the DXT5 setting.

I did that first, but since it didn’t work, I tried exporting it again with the same alpha applied but using DXT3, and applied it in OMSI — but the result was still the same, the roof and doors remained transparent.

I’ll attach the DDS file and the TGA file, so please try testing them once.

  • your dds just works fine.

but it lacks in many shadows and details. You need to make the sand yellow colour on the very bottom layer.

just for information: I have always the alpha channel on a hidden layer to copy it fast and make "alpha from clipboard"
